Mittens for any extreme outdoor weather By AKchic from alaska on 03/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Snug Fit, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Casual Wear, Working Outdoors Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great item for Alaska: keeps out the wind and the chill. I'm female and ordered a men's medium based on other reviews. There is enough extra room if I wear liners for any extra warmth. A little cumberson but these work great when sitting in back of a small plane, walking dog, and enjoying the outside during blizzards.
LOVE MY NEW GRANDOE HIMALYAN MITTENS! By Mitten Lover! from Missouri on 02/27/2009 Pros: Extra-long sleeves, Removable mitten liner, Sleeve-tightening band, Velcro wrist strap, Warm Best Uses: Keeping hands WARM Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love these mittens, even tho they look like two big, white polar bear paws! Ordered men's large because of reviews, & they're the perfect size. (I'm a female & wear a 7 1/2 ring.) My husband can wear them without the liner (wears a 10 1/2 ring) but the liner is pretty tight.
By greyrider from Buford, Ga. on 02/24/2009 Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Too long and bulky
By COLD HANDS from Boulder, CO on 02/24/2009 Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: My husbands hands always get cold on the ski lifts so I got him these gloves as a gift. As all the reviews that I read say, "they are way to small". I got him some large mitten liners at a ski shop and with them they fit perfectly. So, it is the liner that is incorrectly sizes not the actual mitten shell (it fits just fine). If you really want to be warm buy these gloves but you may have to spend a little more on properly fitting liners.
Himalyan Mittens are very warm... By MtMan Brad from Boston, MA on 02/23/2009 Pros: Durable, Good Grip, Snug Fit, Warm, Water Resistant, Windproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Mountaineering, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The gloves fit great but run a little on the small side. They are designed to fit hands that will be holding poles or other tools. The material on the front does hold on to wet snow, but the gloves still stay dry.
By Kulamoola from Chicago on 02/23/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, I waas hoping to use it t, O commute by bike Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have to return these mitts cause they're too tight but they seem well made. I wish they came in an XL.
By GrizzGirl from Colorado Springs, CO on 02/23/2009 Pros: Durable, Stylish, Warm, Windproof Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have long fingers and narrow hands, so I am pleased with the fit of the Men's medium. The liner is significantly smaller than the mitt itself. This is absolutely the warmest mitten I have ever used. It is perfect for snowboarding or other activities that don't require much in the way of dexterity. Amazing product!
Warmest mittens I have ever owned By Snowman from Upper Peninsula of Michigan on 02/17/2009 Pros: Durable, Snug Fit, Warm, Water Resistant, Windproof Best Uses: Backcountry, Working Outdoors Describe Yourself: Advanced Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These mittens are by far the best I have ever owned. I live in snow country. We have received over 230 inches so far this year. These mittens have been perfect for all my outdoor activities. They are too bulky for cross-country skiing but perfect for shoveling, snow-shoeing, playing in the snow, and working outdoors on days that most people in their right minds are inside.
By steve0 from fairbanks, AK on 02/16/2009 Pros: Snug Fit, Warm, Water Resistant, Windproof Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very warm glove. I use it x/c skiing in fairbanks at -20 F. Other reviewers stated this glove feels too small. Not really. Consider that if the glove is loose you have more airspace to heat, which would make the glove less efficient at insulating. I have quite a bit of experience with extreme temperatures. The only drawback to this glove was that the faux fur tends to pull out easily.
By Snow plow man from Lansing, MI on 02/14/2009 Best Uses: Backcountry, Working Outdoors Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These mittens would have been great for times that I spend many consecutive hours outdoors, either playing with the kids or plowing the drive. Unfortunately, the large was too small so I had to return them.
