The only down side is that the grip seems a little slippery. We plan to use this for canoeing and are afraid that it won't grip the paddles very well.

The stitching gave out the 1st time and this was after he struggled to use them every time he needed to tie knots. I tried them, as well, and found that the grips aren't, well, grippy and the velcro doesn't hold the finger tips out of the way.

I haven't tried them in cold weather yet (ie, below 45F) but they seem good down to freezing (but not below, IMO).
