By Steelmahn from Seattle, WA on 10/27/2008 Cons: Color Bleeds, Poor Design Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: They kept my hands warm but the dye bled all over my new waders and coat. I would send them back but it's too much trouble so I'm just going to throw them out. Better that than letting them ruin more of my clothes.
By wdave from L.I., N.Y. on 07/22/2008 Pros: Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice glove, good fit, decent design. The number of loose threads makes me suspect lifetime will be short.
By APC from Olympia, WA on 06/28/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was carrying a new pair of these gloves in a vest pocket that got soaked fishing. I didn't use them during the day, so they were undoubtedly wet for several hours. That evening when I pulled them out of my vest I discovered that the blue dye from the palms had bled and stained all the light fabric on the top of the glove - permanently. It baffles me that a fishing glove, supposedly designed to get wet, would not be colorfast. Unless you're into the "tie-dyed" look, don't buy these gloves.

Save your hands, skin and palms By Grampa Spey from Rivers/streams in N California & SW Or on 05/14/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water, Two handed fly rods Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These gloves serve several purposes:
1. They block the harmful UV rays from doing any more damage to the back of my hands.
2. So you don't need sun block on your hands or fingers, which can harm your fly lines and the wrapping on your fly rods.
3. The palms have excellent cushioning and gripping material so your hands do a better job.
4. Unlike so many so called fly fishing products, these gloves were obviously designed by fly fishers.
5. They work well in salt water, in rivers and on the lakes.
6. I use the two handed fly rods, and the gloves make it less tiring to hold, grip, cast and bring in fish. A year ago, I caught over 24 hard fighting Shad on the Sacramento river on a long hot and windy day. My hands didn't sunburned nor did I have blisters bringing the shad even with the 10 double hookups. The air temp was about 100 degrees, and if my hands got hot, I just stuck my hands with my gloves on into the river several times. The leather palm grips never slipped while casting or with the fish or retrieving the line/flies even while wet.
There are two minor down sides:
1. The loose/extra stitching threads which needs to be trimmed before use and during the use.
2. The Synthetic White material doesn't dry that fast. So your hands can get a little cool/cold in early spring or late fall. On hot days, that is not a disadvantage, see #6 above.

Nice Gloves at a Great price... By Pete from Peoples Republik of Taxachusetts on 04/22/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Functional Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Help to clean the fly line while fishing and also seems to protect my hands from the sun.
Gloves seem to be sized correctly...I over-sized to effect a loose fit which makes it easier getting them on and off while wet.
