There made to be for running biking and swimming. So keep that in mind when you get them. I did a 30 mile ride and they were more comfortable than my other shorts.

The the avid - long distance cyclist would likely want more padding in the crouch but for short around town riding they fit perfect.

It's my first pair of biking shorts, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but I think they fit well and I haven't had any problems with them.

The padding is light, but the shorts dry quickly and the padding is adequate for short (<1 hour) bike rides. I really like the color on the the side of the shorts to stand out a little from the standard all-black shorts. My only negative is that Chlorine can cause the Spandex to lose its stretch. So, these aren't the best choice for regular pool swimming.
