The gloves I have now are a bit too bulky. While these mittens are less bulky the grip is not good for skiing and your hands have to do extra work while gripping the poles. I would not recommend these for skiing. But they are comfortable otherwise and will just use them for casual everyday cold weather needs.

The free fingertips allow me to grasp things I need, then flip the mitten into play to get my fingers warm again.

I have to button jackets and such. Unfortunately, I didn't like the seam on the top side of the palm. The seam on the inside didn't feel comfy.

Bravo, they seem to be during early wear. Warm, comfortable - agile with the mitten off and fingers out. I'm glad I bought two pair. He loved them since they contain recycled bottles...the only complaint is that the velcro on them that keeps the mitten part down when not in use is already falling off...its easily sewed back on, however this happened only after a few uses so it is somewhat disappointing, the rest of the glove is fine and seems to be durable.
