I wear them hiking, climbing and going out. They look great!!! They are a little stiff at first but they will start to give gradually. They were given to me as a fathers day present. Great gift!!!!

By B from CT on 06/19/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well-designed boot. Very light for the amount of support they provide, extremely grippy sole. The lace holders are some of the best I've used; they don't allow the thread to back out easily and provide a very snug fit around the ankle.
I usually wear a 10.5 or 11, and my foot width is right between a C and D. Wearing one mid-weight hiking sock, the 10.5 fits well; the 11 is definitely too long. I'd say this shoe is good for people with a D or wider foot. C's would probably have to use a thick sock or an insert.
Patagonia makes great products, and this is no exception.

Awesome Price (as always...Thanks Sierra). The description says runs small, but i don't believe they do. I bought both a 10.5 and 11, due to low quanity, and the 10.5 fit great! (which is what i usualy wear). The boot has a great fit and wonderful traction. Can't go wrong with patagonia!

By WalkTheWalk from Sydney, Australia on 05/29/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I walk for a living reading electricity meters through some extreme and not so extreme conditions. These boots have been comfortable from day one and tick all the boxes for someone who needs to be on foot rain, hail or shine...
By Jerome from Millville NJ on 05/27/2008 Best Uses: Backcountry, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear a prescription orthotic so I followed the instruction to order a 1/2 size larger. The boots are very comfortable, although this is my first pair of boots purchased exclusively for long distance hiking so i don't have much to compare it too. Toe box seem the right size not too tight or too much room to move around in.
By Flynn the Fisherman from Pasco, WA on 05/06/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Patagonia caries over its excellent product design to a very established hiking boot. I am a larger guy and use prescribed insoles and had no difficult using them or getting into this boot. I would caution buyers if they are looking for a stiff soled, ridged backpacking boot, this boot does not feel as sturdy or supportive as a true backpacking boot, but the Vibram sole and waterproof upper feel very stable and secure within the first few miles of break in.
