By kf from pa on 02/25/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut Best Uses: Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this sweater for a ski layer. I tried it on at a ski resort in a small (my usual size) and couldn't zip it shut and the sleeves were way too short. It took me awhile to find it on the internet, but I bought a large and it fits perfect--allows me to put one or 2 thin layers under without looking like a sausage, but can wear alone without looking like it's too big. The windbreaker liner is nice, but doesn't stop really strong winds from coming through. I used to wear 5-6 shirts for skiing and since buying this now only wear 2-3 layers(this sweater is one). I actually got hot one day of skiing. Super warm and could also wear to go out in.
One con noted: The zip cord for the neck broke the first time I went to tighten it. I didn't have time to exchange it before my trip, but it is an easy repair...just a few stitches as it was only the anchoring end that ripped off, not the part of the cord that threads all the way through the sweater.
By ljblair from Seattle on 01/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was so dissapointed to find it was too small and the body length and sleeves were way too short for a size large!
construction quality issues By bluesail20 from colorado on 12/18/2008 Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: For a sweater of this price and style, I expected a much better construction quality. It looks pretty good at first glance, but you quickly find that it just doesn't look as sharp as it should, and that's because the contrast knitting/stitching around the center zipper and other areas is done pretty sloppily, and the collar doesn't hold its form well. It looks okay, not great, which is not okay at this price level.
Liked design of this sweater, but By Marg from CT on 12/13/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Warm Cons: Poor Quality, Slipped stitch, Way too small Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Color and quality of the wool and sweater design are nice in this product. The sweater is a lined cardigan made of warm brown icelandic wool suitable for cold days and apres' ski. I bought a much higher quality beautiful Icewear sweater last year. This year's sweater was way too small, poorly made. The only difference between the two sweaters was where the sweater was made.
I returned this year's product because of the slipped stitch.
Attractive but not so warm... By snowbunny33 from Ellicottville, NY on 05/26/2008 Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Casual Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very pretty sweater, but much lighter weight than I had anticipated. It's a wide knit, so not even close to windproof. Also runs pretty big - I am usually a large (so that I can get things to zip up the bust), but this large was too big and made it boxy looking. My husband likes it, worth keeping. Had to wear a windproof insulated layer underneath.
