Great boot - didn't fit my narrow heal By GA Hiker from Tucker, GA on 07/21/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Durable lugged sole, Great Traction, Stitched Welt, Sturdy/Durable Cons: Had heal lift, Heavy Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great boot, great price. True to size length wize for me, normally wear a 10, ordered a 10, length was perfect. Unfortunately,I have narrow heals and low volume feet. While the length was fine, I could not stop my heals from lifting up so had to return. Beatiful Italian made boots, wish they fit my feet.
By Riverhill from Kentucky on 07/14/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wonderful boots. All leather, old fashioned craftsmanship. Made in Italy, not China. Broke in very quickly and quite comfortable. Got soaked thu and thru in a torrential down pour but a gortex boot probabbly would have done the same. Highly reccomended.

But I will have to add an arch support, mostly for cushioning because the sole is hard. Otherwise, I love this boot.

By Blue Ridge Hiker from Charlottesville, VA on 07/03/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Difficult Laces, Poor insert, Too Stiff/Not Flexible Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have hiked about 30 miles so far with these boots in the Blue Ridge Mountains. (Up and down trails, not too much along the flatter Appalachian Trail.) I have used lighter weight, nylon style boots in the past. I prefer these, although they are certainly heavier and the lack of arch support was a problem at first. I have corrected that with aftermarket inserts. Overall, I like the boots. They are not very flexible, but that is actually what I was looking for in the trails I hike. They are very stable and provide great protection to the feet against rocks, although the tongue system in the boot does tend to let in quite a bit of debris. Maybe I just haven't figured out the optimum lacing. At any rate, you can hardly go wrong with these boots. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat, even with the few drawbacks.
By Boy Scout Bob from Newark, California on 07/02/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable right out of, Fits half size big, Flexible, Great fit, Great Traction Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'll be using this boot for Half Dome and Clouds Rest in Yosemite, as well as future trips in the Sierra's. I love the fact that it felt so great right out of the box...be aware it fits 1/2 size larger...perfect for the fact it needs a better insole (only negative). I was hesitant at first buying over the Internet without trying it on, but I read all reviews, got my normal size and the rest is history. Great boot!

hiking boots to fit. I was dead wrong, and amazed that old fashioned Italian boots fit perfectly right out of the box. As soon as I put them on I walked out the door and kept walking around the block a couple of times, adjusted the laces and came back inside. The boots almost feel custom made for my feet, which is incredible considering I have given away 3 or 4 pair of much more expensive high tech hiking boots bought in specialty stores that never came close to working out. Kudos to the makers of these wonderful boots.
By homdogs from Longmont CO on 06/18/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are a bit stiff to begin, but they flex more after a few walks. Excellent support and the stiffness means feet are not as sore after a good long hike up Longs Peak. I love these boots! I have one pair in Colorado and another pair in Afghanistan.
