By RagTop from Angels Camp, CA on 08/11/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small, Feels too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After a solid 50 hours of wear consisting of mixed office and hiking in the mountains of Nor-Cal the boots have finally stopped hurting my feet. My foot is large and hard to fit so when I found the Asolo Echo in my size (14) and width (2E) I bought them. First impression is of a well built and solid boot. After trying them on and wearing them around the house and work it became obvious that they were going to be a pain in the butt to break-in. Don't let the wide sizing info fool you. If you have a wide foot this may not be the boot for you. It feels like a 13.5 - D width. That being said, if the boot fits you better than me, go for it. It is a solid boot. If not, try the Lowa Renegade.

I have gone through several pair over the last several years and wear them every day. I wear hiking boots for everything and all the time. Work, walking, hunting, even when dressed up a bit. I need good foot support and they always work for me. I wear no other boots but these and always have an extra new pair in the box when I need them.

These are great, used a pair for several months now even tested the traction on the mist trail and a hike to half dome in yosemite and the boot passed with flying colors, looking forward to buying my second pair. These feel true to size as a street boot but remember get a half size bigger if ur using liner, hiking socks etc.

By Scott from Tulsa from Tulsa, OK on 06/08/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Purchased for Red River - Taos Ski Valley 5 day hiking trip. Boots did not require any breakin. Hiked varied terrain requiring solid performance from a mid-weight all-purpose hiking boot. Although not water proof, the boot perfomed exceptionally well in all conditions. This is my 1st Asolo boot, but definitely not my last. Will opt for gore-tex lining in next pair of Asolos. I am happy with purchase decision and feel that you could not go wrong with this boot if you get it in the $70 price range. That certainly could done at Sierra Trading Post. Hold out for one of the many good sales online.
