By Allen from Wales on 01/23/2009
Pros:
Accurate Casting, Easy To Transport
Best Uses:
Fly Fishing, Large Fish, River Fishing, Small Fish
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I possess major brands of expensive fly rod and travel into "Slovenia" and catch some trophy fish on large and small flies, with airline restrictions these rods fit into your hand luggage and do not have to be taken into the hold. I love em. I have now bought another MarchBrown road for use in the UK and elsewhere. For the price of a Premium name you could posisbly own 3 of these rods and be better prepared for any occasion.

There is not a better rod in the world for king salmon. The rod casts three miles against the wind and can haul up any monster swimming.

Poor quality
By KD from Oceanside, NY on 11/28/2008
Pros:
Easy To Transport
Cons:
Breaks Easily, Poor Construction
Best Uses:
Fly Fishing
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:

Comments:
Rod tip broke in 2 places and tip top fell off on its first use. I purchased a 7pc 8 wt and used it for steelhead. Within 1 hr for no apparent reason the tip was down by the fly.

Comments:
I have an executive performance rod by March Brown which after much use broke at the tip segment. An e-mail to March Brown explaining what had happened resulted in a replacement rod (not just the segment) being sent across the Atlantic within a couple of weeks. Their customer service puts many companies to shame. I love this rod and whilst it feels a little handle heavy compared to other rods, once a reel is on the balance is great and out casts more famous brands that I have.

Comments:
I own a dozen fly rods, from #5 to #11. Two years ago I acquired a March Brown #6 pack rod for motorcycle/backpacking use on trout and smallmouth bass. I liked it so much I bought a #8 for Largemouth bass. I now rarely use any other rod. I make these two weights work for just about everything except Steelhead. These rods perform superbly! I was sceptical that a 7 piece rod would perform as well as a 2 piece but they are great. The nice , short travel tube means no transportation problems, ever.
