It is more spacious than it appears.

Very Nice Bag; Excellent Deal By tomt from Arlington, VA on 12/18/2008 Pros: Flat Bottom, Great Capacity, Pockets, Protective, Size to Fit Skis, Sturdy fabric Cons: No quick-release buckles, Only Partially Padded Best Uses: Day Trips, Extended Trips, Travel Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: - Very sturdy and well made. Heavy cordura fabric, sturdy zipper. The main zipper is full-length on one side of the bag (the flat "boot" end), and not quite to the end on the adjustable side. - The bag is generously sized. It could easily hold two pairs of skis. Nice, large side pocket for accessories, too. - I have 175cm XC skis, and adjusting the length of the bag to fit leaves a huge amount of left-over webbing-strap. That's fine, but you'll have to roll it up and tie it or stash it somewhere. Maybe in the side pocket. - The buckles on the exterior cinch straps are of the ladder-lock type, and as a result the straps get in the way when you are inserting or removing your skis. Easy enough to replace them (the ladder-locks) with half-inch Fastex-type side-release buckles, like on luggage, packs, etc. No cutting of the the webbing required. - Side and bottom padding covers the binding area only -- about 24 inches or so (guess). If you use this bag for air travel, you'll still want to wrap your skis/poles in bubble wrap or whatever, just to be sure. - Carry/shoulder straps do not extend around the bag, but are sewn into the seam at the bottom of the bag, then secured with metal tacks. Should be fine, though, as they don't really carry much weight anyway. Extended to full length, they can be used for shoulder carriage; wrapped once around the bag and secured with the velcro grip, they're just right for hand-carriage.- There is a long padded pocket/sleeve on the bottom of the bag (for poles??). There's no padding on the bottom of this pocket, however, only on the top. - Definitely recommended. Fantastic deal at [$].
Great ski bag for the money By Avalanche Bob from New York City, NY on 08/08/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Protective Cons: Smallish "shoulder" strap Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Padded protection good. Ample storage for skis up to 205 cm; PLENTY OF ROOM for extras (sox, underwear, etc). Stress points on straps well riveted and bar-tacked. A long, adjustable strap (with clip) reduces overall bag length to accommodate shorter skis; the excess strap kind of dangles...a little annoying. Handle straps have comfort pad; can be a bit tight if used as a shoulder strap. Outside zippered gusseted pocket (17"l x 6"w x 2"d), ample for books, travel papers, gloves, etc. Bag uses near-full length DOUBLE-ended zipper, both zips can meet in the middle under the handle, or at either end. Nice navy blue color with black accents, gray straps. I think this one is a winner, time will tell. No telling what those "luggage handlers" at the airport can do, I once had truck tire treadmarks on my luggage years ago and everything inside was crushed FLAT and destroyed.
By mjapple from Denver, CO on 05/24/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Protective Best Uses: Day Trips, Travel Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Have used this bag a couple of times, as well as on the plane. Stood up well, even with a couple of transfers. Straps are comfortable to haul around, though the capacity is pushing it for my wide skis. Still a great bag for me.
By Ski bum from Philadelphia, PA on 05/07/2008 Pros: Great Capacity, Protective Best Uses: Extended Trips, Travel Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've had ski High Sierra bags before and they've always been good quality. My last one was several years old and in great shape before it got eaten by an airport luggage carousel.
This new one is contructed well, with extra padding near the binding area. I have not carried the skis in them yet, but the straps look pretty good.
By skiflake from USA on 05/06/2008 Pros: Great Capacity, Lightweight Cons: Offers Little Protection, Wears Easily Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Im gonna be honest Im a little disappointed in this bag. I was looking for one that would offer more protection to my skis while lugging them back and forth from the mountain, and that I could use to take my skis on the plane. This bag is NOT a padded bag, and is only one layer of fabric. After a few plane trips (bubble wrapped skis inside) I found small holes in the bag, and they are getting bigger...its a fine bag for daily carrying purposes, but I will be looking for one that is more durable and has padding.
By Starman from Boise, ID on 04/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Capacity, Protective Best Uses: Day Trips, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good bag. Padded and protective. Extra long, but you fold one end over and retain it with a strap. Unnecessary bulk, but no big deal.
By Sergio from Madison, WI on 04/19/2008 Pros: Great Capacity, Protective, Water Resistant Cons: Shoulder strap slips Best Uses: Day Trips, Extended Trips, Travel Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I used this bag to transport my skiis on the airplane. It's tough and roomy. Two things kept it from being perfect. The strap would slide off my shoulder if I wasn't careful, and the two tighten-down straps on the outside of the bag should have fastsnaps for quick release and easier access to the inside. Overall still a great bag that will carry my skiis on many future trips.
