The clarity and quality is better than any other set of binoculars that I examined for anywhere near the same price. Otherwise, there is nothing particularly special about this product.
By Lexy from Boston, MA on 10/17/2009 Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Best Uses: Bird Watching, Hunting, Sporting Events/Concerts, Wildlife Viewing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: 8x22 Safari is the best product for the price. It is everything that I wanted in binoculars as compact as this and much more. I hesitated for a long time to buy binoculars because I never thought I'd have much need for it, would not get a clear picture or enough magnification without paying tons of money. O boy, was I wrong. I don't know how I ever managed to live without them. The best thing, they give clear perfect view and they are incredibly compact and light for such a high quality product.
By Kayak Kid from NY, NY on 09/16/2009 Cons: Difficult To Focus, Unstable Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: For some, I'm sure these binoculars would be fine, but for me they were awkward in build and to focus. There are thumb indentations for grip which do not correspond to the human hand. Placing them in front of the eyes is awkward and uncomfortable. The focus process produces unnecessary eye strain. By the time they're focused the subject has passed. Unless you want to view flowers I would opt for a larger more comfortable pair. I returned these.
