By Mountain Explorer from Colorado on 03/12/2009 Pros: Compact, Lightweight, Works Well With Glasses Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The binoculars arrived from STP with the box seal broken and the box torn. Red Flag! The eye cup had a big gob of grease on it. 2nd red flag. The binoculars would not focus sharp and clear. [...] was very disappointed with this purchase.

Depth of field is very shallow, very close focus
Our only complaint so far is that the strap is really chintzy.

Only minor gripe-the case zipper open takes longer and is less easy to open then say a velcro access.

By Outdoor Deb from Upstate NY cow country on 12/16/2008 Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Best Uses: Astronomy, Bird Watching, hunting, Security, Wildlife Viewing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Poor vision? Wear glasses- no problem ! I can see the Birds and the Bees making honey from far away. Our home is a wildlife paradise full of gardens and trees. My binos are compact enought to carry around in my pocket and I never miss a thing. With crystal clear lenses and easy to focus.
By Strada from Seattle on 12/13/2008 Pros: Close Focus, Compact, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Best Uses: Hiking and fishing Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very nice unit with great clarity in a compact size. It comes with a carrying case but can easily fit into a pocket or belt sack. The edge to edge clarity is very good. The BAK 4 lenses do not disappoint. It's armoured coated for rough handling. The eye cups can be rolled down for the eyeglass wearer. But the eye relief is sufficient to leave the eye cups up. It took a bit of getting used to the thumb pad but once I got used to it, it is a good referrence point for quick access to the focus ring. Indoor use is limited to bright lighting. Viewing stage productions or symphonic performaces were OK. The 8X constricts the angle of view and I've found 5X or 6X better suited for these needs.
