Welll made, comfy vegan boot By Hubblepie from Palmyra, Virginia on 01/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, No animal products, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these every day while walking through woods and streams with my dogs. They are very well-made; no seams rip open like on the Lacrosse Hawthorne or Bogs Journey. The soles are very thick, which is great for rugged trails.
I am a 9.5 wide and I got a 10. It's a little big at the heel, but fine when I wear thick socks. The toe box is wide enough for my feet. The top is a little loose at the calf, so must tie very tightly. I usually wear pull-ons since laces slow me down while my dogs are begging me to leave the house. These laces have only 3 holes on each side, and are quick to loosen, slide your foot in, and tighten up and tie.
These boots are very warm - maybe a bit too warm for Virginia. When the temp is over 40 degrees, my feet get too hot. But they are great for chilly days.
By JB from Boston, MA on 01/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been looking for a good pair of boots with great traction, and especially a boot that was waterproof. Living up here in the Northeast we get pretty cold and winters are snowy and slushy and messy. After looking all over I finally found these boots (and at a great price!). My feet stay nice and toasty warm, and the traction they provide is excellent. The one thing I wasn't expecting is how heavy they are but I'm beginning to get used to that, and besides, the benefits of staying warm and dry far outweigh the fact that they are a bit heavy. I would definitely recommend them for anyone living in a cold, snowy climate!

I wished I had of bought these years ago and would not have suffered the pain of cold feet while working outside with horses in the winter. The boots are so light weight and comfortable I can even wear them to ride. What a great product!
Quality Boots at a Great Price By Jayna from Northeast on 12/08/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Columbia footwear is quality-made. I have a wide foot but was able to wear the medium width in this particular style. Boots are warm and great for getting around in the snow. I purchased this as a second pair to one I own previously [...] Columbia's fleece jackets are also terrific.

Two pairs of socks did not keep them from feeling sloppy.
