very comfortable after long break-in By southeast hiker from South Carolina on 11/10/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Difficult Laces, Long Break-in, Too Stiff/Not Flexible Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear these boots almost every day during the winter. The break-in period was quite long, but the boots are becoming very comfortable now. My feet have never been wet in these boots... the Gore-Tex does its job well. The only problem I've had is the laces come untied, and that can easily be fixed by knotting them or changing to a different style of laces.
By Paul from Quebec, Canada on 11/10/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: SIZE; I bought 10 1/2, they fit me well, other makers fit me from 10 1/2 to 11 1/2. The best way to be sure of a good fit is to try on a few different models at a dealer, find a median for THAT make and go with it. (I have gone back and tipped the salesperson $10 to $20 for their time . . . I am not that much of a scrooge)
By Nathan from Beaumont, TX on 11/09/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had worn my old boots for 11 years and was worried about having to break in a new pair. I pulled the boots out of the box, put them on and went on a very steep 4-mile day hike... Absolutely no problems! This is a very sturdy yet comfortable boot. I would highly recomend the boot to anyone. Also, they fit true to size.
By Rick from Truckee, CA on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've had three pair of these Asolo FSN 95's.
The fit seems to vary a little each time but it's close enough that I don't change sizes from my standard 8 1/2. They are comfortable and a good value for a waterproof day hiker. Gore-Tex lined boots run hot so I recommend using Coolmax socks most of the time.
By Badboyeddie from Olympia, WA on 11/09/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have only worn these boots around town to break them in. They are surprisingly comfortable for their stiffness. They will be great for hiking anywhere. Great traction. I have narrow heels and my left one seems to rise a bit, but they are already getting better as I wear them. I am also planning to get inserts for more support. Love them!

They are the best boot I have ever bought for comfort in rough terrain and the gortex is proven reliable as I have rucked thru ankle deep swamp and my feet stayed dry! Best all around boot I have ever bought or been issued. I am on my 4th pair right now!
voted number one for a reason! By worldvisitor from Va. on 11/05/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a very large foot for a woman, so I ordered a mans boot. It worked out great. They fit just the way I wanted with enough room for two pair of socks. It is not cold enough yet for me to rate the warmness of this boot, but loved everything else.

Best boots - durable - great quality By Jason E. from Folsom, CA & Charlottesville, VA on 11/05/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big, Feels too large Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are truely the best boots that I have ever worn. I have been up Mt. Whitney and many other peaks, so I know how to put the boots to the test. This is my second pair. I purchased my first pair to replace my hiking boots and my Redwing work boots. After 2.5 yrs of everyday use on concrete the soles are getting to slick for hiking, but I still wear them to work. They have held up as well as my Redwings.
To make the soles last as long as they do, they use a hard rubber which can be a little slick on some surfaces. (Like in stores when the soles are wet.)
The add said that they run a half size large so I followed their advise and it was perfect.
