By extremesportsnut from SD on 06/06/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this boot for everyday work; from laying tile to cutting firewood this boot is great. Initial break-in takes about a good week before the boot fits your foot. Once it is broken in, the boot is great. The only other thing is it isn't waterproof, so walking through tall wet grass can leave you with soggy socks. I liked them so much that I bought another pair.

They were comfortable from the start, no break in needed.

By Rich from Frederick, MD on 04/28/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are quite possibly the best hiking boots I have ever owned. I am on my second pair. I bought pairs for my son and wife. I own several other Asolo boots (different models) and this model is my favorite by far. The boot is light weight and sturdy with a lacing pattern that allows a close fit across the forepart of your foot, through and up the ankle. Your foot will not slip inside this boot which means good foot placements, low/no blisters, and actual comfort. I have a narrow foot and the regular size fits very well. Minimal breakin necessary and the only area to be broken in is the Achillies Tendon area. The only drawback with this boot is the ankle cuff tends to open allowing in drirt and small scree- if you hike with gaiters, this is not a problem. Also don't worry that this boot is not Gore-Tex lined, you don't need it. This boot performs as good or better than Gore Tex lined boots. Solid boot and solid cost performer.

Comfy from the first wear! Breathable so my feet don't get to hot! I'm buying another pair to have as a back up!
