By asandygal from the Sierra on 06/30/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My first hike with these boots was up a snow field with my skis on my back... and I broke through the snow at one point and splashed my boot right down into the creek running below. The boots kept my feet warm and dry though!!! Couldn't ask for more. Very comfy on the first hike too. I DID order a 1/2 size smaller than normal, as that was the concensus of the other reviews. Great boots, thus far!!! Images shared by: asandygal
By Kathi from Holyoke, MA on 06/28/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small, Feels too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I usually wear a size 8.5 - 9.0 in hiking boots to allow for my orthotics and thicker socks. I fit in a size 8.0 in this boot. They are a narrow shoe, esp. the toe box--which works well for me also.
By avid outdoorsman from firestone, colorado on 06/23/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these for my wife and my mother-in-law and both of them found them to be extremely comfortable right out of the box. The waterproofing (gore-tex) is second to none and they look stylish too.
By sun lover from nm on 06/22/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I do day hiking and love the boots. I had to send the first pair back because they were a .5 size too big. They did not have the same color so I got the donkey and actually liked them better.

By Backpacker in Northern California from Humboldt County on 06/15/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Tight in Heel at first Best Uses: Day Hiking, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Reading the reviews before purchasing these boots was very helpful. I chose a half size larger than my usual size. It gave me the room I needed for thicker socks. My toes had plenty of room in steep down hill hiking which was where my last boots failed. It took about 2 days to really break them in but even during that time they were comfortable. I really like how they keep my feet dry after walking through mud and water.

A little narrow in the toe By kay from hudson valley on 06/02/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, Environmentalist, Professional Gardener, Professional/Guide Sizing: Feels half size too small, Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've owned these boots before and had them for years. I just bought these and a pair of Sportivas and the sportivas are more comfortable. The Asolos require more break-in, but are still great boots.
By catcrazykentucky from lexington on 05/31/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big, Feels too large Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My first pair of asolo boots lasted 15 years so when they needed replacing I knew I wanted another pair. This time I ordered the same size (7's) that I bought before even tho my over-50 feet have increased in size from a dainty 6 1/2 to 7 1/2's and sometimes 8's in running shoes.:(
They fit fine even with two pairs of light weight socks. I wore them a few times to "soften" them up (yes, they are a little stiff out of the box) and just returned from a 7 mile hike today and my feet feel great! (just don't ask how the rest of my body feels!)
