By Petdoc2b from Maryland on 10/11/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are all around great boots, but you need to know before buying that they run large-I wear a 7.5 to 8, and the 8's were very big, not only in length but around the circumference of the foot as well. I didn't pay attention to the other reviews and that was my mistake. I did find a smaller size and they are great. Sierra Trading is a good company to do business with.
By MT kili Girl from Hartford, ct on 10/06/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These look like great boots, unfortunetly they didn't fit me well. had to send them back.
By kton85 from Northern CO on 09/09/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I liked being able to snug up all the laces, as my feet are narrow. I have trouble lacing boots tight enough to keep from getting blisters, but these did fairly well (with a little help from a mole-skin insert on the heel)
Asolo fan again and again. By Momma Em from Seattle, Wa on 09/08/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Cons: Little toe slight crunch Best Uses: Day Hiking, Long-Distance Hiking Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When sizing ASOLO's I used my old pair to decide. I thought I had an 8.5 in my closet but when I checked it was a 7. I've had my old pair for 10 years so I had forgotten they run big. I since have had two children and my foot has grown so I had to exchanged the 7 I ordered for a 7.5. These are perfectly sized but are slightly narrower around my toe than my last pair. However, I forsee a quick break-in. Beatiful color blue suede and good construction.
By Connie, Pet Nurse from St. Louis, MO on 08/21/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an overall great boot. Not much break in time required. Using now to walk the dogs in the city before trying the back country and it is extrememly comfortable. Sizing runs big. I'm a 7 1/2-8, per reviews, I ordered a 7 and it fits perfect. It doesn't allow for easy tightening across the top of the foot due to lace structure, but it's a narrow fit, so doesn't need much adjusting there anyway.
Comfortable right out of the box By efb from Ithaca, NY on 08/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: One nice thing as the guides for the laces are positioned far enough to the front of the boot that the inner lace guides don't catch when you walk - I've noticed a tend in recent years for manufacturers to put the lace guides too wide apart.

By Outdoor lady from Arcata, CA on 08/06/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational, Environmentalist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I exchanged a pair of LaSportiva Thunder Gortex Hiking boots (gave me horrible blisters, way too tight) for the Asolo FSN 85. I've only worn them on day hikes so far but they feel far superior to the LaSportivas. I wear a women's 7 regular width and the Asolo's fit much better, have great ankle support and traction. They're a little stiff around the ankles and upper support but I think they will wear in fine. My intended use is backpacking including off trail cross country so good support and traction are a must (and no blisters). These boots seem like they will work very well. They also have much more arch support and cushion for the fore foot than a pair of Vasque Sundowners I've previously used. I'd definitely recommend these over LaSportiva or Vasque.
