They are always stiff and go on a little hard to start with, but will break in easily--pretty true to size but because they are a little hard to get on, don't be afraid to go a half size larger--

My daughter was wearing a size two at the time, but the size three fit her. She doesn't ever complain about wearing them. Later, I saw the other colors online and bought her a black pair as well. Great shoe!
