Best Boots For Winters In New England By New England News Carrier from Boston, Ma. on 12/13/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: So far, these boots are wonderful although, I've only worn them for about 3 weeks. When I first started wearing them, they took a little getting use to because their a good solid maybe slightly heavy boot, there's nothing cheap about them at all. I had to adjust to them some... nothing major. I only gave this product 4 stars because I haven't had them for very long but I've worn them in cold weather, not the coldest yet but, they seem to be doing their job in keeping my feet warm and dry. I don't have to worry about stepping in snowy, slushy puddles... I feel I'm protected. Now, I'm ready to take on winter this year in New England. These boots were so worth it, [...] I've never written a product review/testimonial before but I felt this product really deserves it.

By Lisa from Chicago, IL on 12/12/2008 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Don't Breathe, Heavy, Not Comfortable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I wanted a boot for the Chicago winter. Although they were warm and waterproof, the boots were incredibly uncomfortable to walk in and I couldn't move my ankle. My typical size 7 was much too big and I did end up returning the boots [...]
By Abby from Burlington, VT on 12/09/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've always been a fan of the Sorel Pac boot. The last pair I purchased (or had purchased for me) was in 1990, and the boots are still in working order today! The only reason I got a new pair was for style purposes (cool black and white herringbone design). These boots will keep your feet warm and dry in the sloppiest conditions.

By Janice from Chicago, Illinois on 12/09/2008 Pros: Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit, Heavy Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these boots for my mother, who still likes to shovel snow and tromp out to get the mail. I wanted boots that would be warm and dry with great treads, and these fit the bill. My mom finds these hard to get on because they're a bit stiff, and they're a little heavy for her. But I know from experience with my own Sorel boots that they will keep her warm and upright, and will wear like iron. Not stylish, but very utilitarian.
By Don't squeeze me so hard from NYC, NY on 12/08/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm 5'4" tall and weigh 121lbs (am NOT bottom heavy)and I felt like these boots were squeezing me, though they were easy to get into. I am returning them.
By healthnut from chagrin falls, ohio on 12/07/2008 Pros: Easy Entry & Exit, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Not Comfortable, Poor Traction Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I guess you get what you pay for -- these boots were priced right at [$]. I thought -- what a deal for Sorel's. BUT -- they are stiff and not flexible when walking and the most bothersome part of all is that the uppers are made of a synthetic material. This material is stiff and cuts into my upper calves when walking. I can tolerate these boots though for snowblowing the driveway or short walks. For anything more -- longer walks and hikes over more challenging terrain -- I would advise investing in a better boot.
