Comments:
Great pack - the only complaint is that I wish the back pack part had 2 zippers so that I could use my waterpack with it more easily. It only has one so the water bladder comes out the side instead of the top.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday when he mentioned, in passing that he wanted one. He LOVES it. Unfortunately for me, now he has to go buy more stuff to fill it up. He has used it a couple of times already and it is the perfect addition to any fisherman. I would recommend this product to anyone who enjoys fishing.

Great Chest Pack for a Day on the Water
By Wild BillVerified Purchaser from Canton, NY on 6/5/2008
Pros:
Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Lots of Storage, Waterproof Pockets
Cons:
No Dual Zippers
Best Uses:
Fly Fishing, Freshwater Fishing
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I've been looking for a chest pack that would replace my vest because although the typical vest is very practical, it tends to be somewhat bulky and disorganized. I like to go out for a day without worrying about returning to my car for anything. I needed somewhere I could put my lunch, water, and other "emergency" gear (like a camera, for example!), and ideally carry it on my body without using my hands.

The Watermark Hydro Vest Pack really did the job well. Plenty of storage space for the day, and the compartments on the front enable me to stay very organized on the water. The zingers are great! Four altogether, and very sturdy. I would expect to pay twenty dollars each if I had to by them separately.

Lots of pockets, lots of D-rings, including one for my net, and very nice fly storage on fold-down platforms for tying on without leaving the water.

My first time out using it I got caught in quite a downpour. I was soaked head-to-toe. I assumed that everything inside the pack would be wet. But my phone and my camera inside the backpack both stayed totally dry.

Very nice, practical, durable pack. I highly recommend it.

Great alternative to traditional vest.
By Gear JunkieVerified Purchaser from Seattle on 5/10/2008
Pros:
Hydration, Lightweight, Lots of Storage
Best Uses:
Day hike, Fly Fishing, Freshwater Fishing, Saltwater Fishing
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
This was purchased as a gift for a beginning fisherman. User is an avid hiker who loves a hydration pack. This product covers that plus front loading gear pouches for more than a days worth of fishing. I can not even come up with enough gadgets to use all the built in retractors.

Simple, effective fishing pack
By boglinVerified Purchaser from jackson, wy on 4/15/2008
Pros:
Lightweight
Best Uses:
Fly Fishing
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I like the simplicity of this vest. Not too many do dads to get your line tangled in. I could use more storage in the pack part, but without a hip belt, thats probably not possible. I can carry a rain jacket, water bottle, spare fly box, and lunch, but barely. Overall its comfortable and better than the last vest I owned, and for the price would recommend it.

Lightweight, but lacking!
By WylieVerified Purchaser from Monte Vista, Colorado on 4/13/2008
Pros:
Lightweight, Waterproof Pockets
Cons:
Functionality, Not Enough Storage or Features
Best Uses:
Fly Fishing
Sizing:
Feels true to size
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
A pouch in the back for a net would be helpful. The front pockets do not have enough restraints to hold equipment in place -- and are therefore susceptible to a loss of flyboxes, etc. if they are not opened carefully.

Not built for a woman
By Kansas fly fishin' woman from Topeka KS on 4/8/2008
Pros:
Durable, Lots of Storage
Best Uses:
Fly Fishing
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I expected to like this better than a vest, but I don't. The pockets, when full of fly boxes and spools, stick out so far out front (and I'm not THAT well-built!) that they get in the way while casting. You have to fumble around to find the zipper pulls because you can't see them; they end up on the outside lower corners of the main pockets when the pockets are zipped. For the same reason, you can't just unzip a pocket part of the way to peek into it; it has to be opened all the way. The zingers don't retract your tools tightly to the vest, and the adjacent pockets aren't deep enough to tuck your tools into them, so your hemostats and clippers are always flopping way out in front and getting in the way. It does hold quite a lot of stuff, however, has some handy D-rings and small inner pockets, and I like the back pocket because it gets seldom-used stuff out of the way. But fully loaded, this thing is just heavy and awkward. I always feel it is in the way while fishing. Maybe a large man would find it to be comfortable, but I don't.
