The leather seems high quality. Not very stable--with leather soles they would probably pretty slippery on snow or ice (the clilmate I would be wearing them in) though I know leathaer soles are a mark of quality workmanship in a boot. The pair I received a few days ago was defective, so I will have to return it: the zippers on both catch on the leather inside. I had some frantic minutes thinking I wasn't going to get oout of them--not a good thing for practical and other reasons.

I kept the 8's and returned the 8.5's.
These boots are attractive, well constructed and comfortable. The zipper has a tendency to catch at the leather/suede seam, but I think with use it will get better. I'm very happy with these boots and view them as a longterm wardrobe investment!

I'm 41 and try to dress my age but I do like to follow trends that work for me. This boot looks great and won't date itself. A good investment piece, for this quality and style you won't beat the price, I've looked around a lot.

REAL LEATHER soles and real leather stacked heel!Just like a real boot should be made. I would have paid full price for these boots. I think they are classic and right in style for this season.
One weird thing was some of the darker finish on the leather part of the boot wore off rather quickly but is now evening out giving a nice worn look to the boot. At first it was scary and I was dissapointed but now it seems to be just fine.
