Okay,..but could be a WHOLE lot better!
By Fishin' RNVerified Reviewer from Enfield, NH on 5/12/2008
Pros:
Durable, Inexpensive on sale
Cons:
Design is inefficient, Fins too small for effect, Straps are useless
Best Uses:
Fresh Water, Traveling
Describe Yourself:
Avid Fisher
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I'll keep these fins because they are decent for the price, but first, the straps/buckles are TOTALLY useless if you have big feet at all (size 12 here). I threw the straps out and made my own...which cost about[$] from a fabric/craft store. Second, the design is VERY inefficient when you consider how you sit in a float tube. The vane of the fin should angle DOWN a bit so your thrust is pushing you to the rear instead of the way they currently work. They vane of the fin could also be about two inches longer so you can get more power from your kick. It is a no-brainer that float tube fin design should be quite different from scuba fins, but they do move you along...very slowly and inefficiently. At the sale price, they are tolerable, but come on folks...put a little thought into the design!

I'm waiting for the weather to warm so that I can get out and use these. They seem great for my pontoon boat going down small streams.
