Nothing better for this price By Fishingaddict from Sunny California on 06/02/2008 Pros: Durable, Reliable, Smooth Drag System, Smooth Reeling Cons: not much backing capcity Best Uses: Bass Fly Fishing, Beginner Fly Fishing, Fly Fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought several for 8 WT Sci Anger 9ft rods for Boy Scout Outing for Bass. Put 8wt Cortland 555 DT lines but could not get more than 110yds of 30lb Micron which was plenty for bass. Balances excellent with the Sci Anger 8wt rod and is perfect for beginner to intermediate fly anglers. Drag is adequate and reel is durable graphite composite. You are hard pressed to find anything of this quality for this price point.

It's large but light for the size. I think it's a good value - at least for a beginner.
