By Been To All 50 from Mesa, AZ on 09/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Cushy, Durable, Regulates Temperature Well Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore these nice soft socks this morning for my daily 45 minutes walk in my hiking boots. They seemed very comfortable. Did not bunch up and my feet did not seem overly hot. At 90 degrees at 6AM that is saying something! Haven't washed them yet, so don't know how they will hold up. They are a little on the odd looking side, however!

By Opinionator from Currently NoVa before heading out again. on 08/02/2009 Pros: Good Design, Stylish Best Uses: Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Good, quality made sock...for 20 years ago. These remind me of the wool hiking socks that were available before Smart Wool changed the market. The fit is more loose and the weave is more loose, as well. They just don't feel as protective as other modern socks. I thought the Cool Max would be a good idea but I honestly felt that my feet were warmer at the end of the day from wearing these. These socks were 2nds and the loose weaving at the top wasn't complete so I expect that to unravel over time. The elasticity on the shaft isn't very tight but I didn't notice a problem with them sliding down in just normal walking. There's no way I would buy these uless they were considerably cheaper than anything else.
