By Lady Snow-thrower from Coeur d Alene, ID on 03/13/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Snow throwing-shoveling, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The thick liner made it almost impossible to get on and off. So I substitute the lighter liner from my dressy Sorrel boots to make them perfect.
By tour director from Dallas, TX on 03/09/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Waterproof Cons: Not Warm, Poor Traction Best Uses: Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots, while rated to 40 below, did not perform in 20 above. My feet froze standing watching the start of the Iditarod when it was 20 degrees F and the wind was blowing. I slid on the ice and had to use foot warmers when it was not even to zero. Did get a lot of compliments on the design, however.
By Wilderness Therapy Rocks from Boulder, CO on 03/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Gear Usage: Winter Backpacking Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore this boot on a 6 day winter backpacking/snowshoeing trip and they kept my feet warm and cozy. I removed the liners each night and slept with them in my bag so they could dry (this helped immensely). The only thing that could be improved is the sole. I expected them to have a heftier sole with more traction. I slipped a little on the ice. Other than that they were perfect.
By No longer cold in Chicago from Chicago, IL on 03/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I walk 1-1/2 miles each way from the train station to my office. These boots are a god-send. They are warm, waterproof, and comfortable for walking. My only comment would be that if you're looking for sylish, these wouldn't be the boots for you.
Very stiff! What a disappointment. By Lisa's mum from Australia on 02/28/2008 Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit, Heavy, Not Comfortable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I had these shipped all the way to Australia only to find that they were so stiff and rubbed against my calves so much that I couldn't even walk in them, and I have quite slim legs & calves. It was a huge disappointment to have to ship them back as I was so excited about them, but they were so uncomfortable & hard to get into that I had no choice!
If you need dry warm boots Use these By Just want to have Fun from Hammond, IN on 02/20/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: After Skiing/Snowboarding, Cold Weather, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Needed warm boots for ski trip. Also wanted some style. These boots help accomplish both. A little hard to get on and off. Also I wear a size 6.5 and bought the 6. They fit perfect.
By Tracy from Hertfordshire, England on 01/03/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Really comfortable and really warm - my feet are normally cold, but having these on was like walking around in my slippers. I was able to walk in them all day the day after I got them, and the conditions were cold, wet and miserable - having warm feet meant our Scottish holiday was anything but!
Getting them on and off was a little hard - the combination of the leather and the thick lining means that they are not the most flexible of boots. I did the boots up fairly loose, as they were so stiff, they were firmly on my feet all day.
My feet are so happy to walk the dog now By Have dog will travel from Chicago, IL on 01/02/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Best Uses: Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had been wearing my hiking boots out in the snow to walk the dog, but my toes got cold and wet and it just wasn't good. These Sorel boots are terrific. My feet are dry and warm and I can climb the hill in the park with less slippage. And the quality is awesome. I am sure they will last a good many years. I also like that I can replace the inner felt boot in a couple of years if I need to.
