By 1Bighand from Casa Grande, AZ on 08/25/2008 Pros: Durable, Reliable, Smooth Drag System Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Pawl part of the drag wore out in six months, used for warmwater pond fishing. Unbale to find this replaement part. Without it there is not drag and the spool over runs onto itself when stripping line out for a cast causing a birds nest.

By big herb from Wisconsin on 07/06/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First fly reel that i have ever owned, just starting to fly fish. Reel was recommended by relative who is retired from sporting goods sales.
Said it was a good reel for the price. Came as expected and looks fine. Not pricey, but time will tell if it's a value or not.
By Raffpap from Medical Lake, WA on 06/03/2008 Cons: Poor Construction, Tangles Line Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Does not look and feel like a quality product. The construction is poor. For example, there is a gap between both sides of the spacer that separates the spool from the reel. If you are not careful, your line will get pinched and caught in these gaps. The drag system, while functional, is mediocre at best and is not smooth and consistent.
