My Review Is Very Different Than Most ~ By Azure from Hollidaysburg, PA on 01/23/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish, Waterproof Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit, Don't Breathe, Not Warm, Poor Traction Best Uses: Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I dislike writing this review, because it is going to appear to contradict so many others I’ve read.
Suffice it to say I really had read all of the reviews, which made me feel absolutely confident in ordering the Columbia boots. When they arrived I could hardly wait to get outside.
First I needed to put them on, right? I very much dislike the elasticized shoelaces. It took me some time just to figure out how they worked! Once I got that, I still was dissatisfied with the inability to make them as tight as I wanted at the top.
I intended to walk 2 miles with my 3 dogs on a single digit afternoon. Brrrr ~ Even though I walked at a brisk rate, I soon noted that my toes were cold. On the positive side, the boots do seem to be waterproof, and we walked through some pretty deep powdery snow.
About 3 fourths of a mile into our walk the boots were rubbing the outside of my ankles to the point where it was starting to hurt. That’s when I shortened my walk to a mile. Smart, huh?
Let me add that I wear a size 7, & they did fit nicely. My foot & ankle are just average in size, in case that is relevant to the review.
Well ~ I suppose you get the idea by now, & I hope this helps someone else in deciding.

But very warm and a good fit, too.
Super warm and comfortable By Biking Senior from Wellington, OH on 01/12/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like the easy on-off of these boots, they are very comfortable and keep my feet warm in the snow. They are also good for casual walking, like walking our dogs around the neighborhood. I probably would not try hiking in rough terrain with them as they do not give my weak ankles enough support. For my purposes, though, they are great boots.

They would not stay tied, I had to replace after first use, but now they're great, a really stylish, warm, comfortable boot.
