The zippers have not slipped for me. With thick socks they are great. Above ankle might be a little tight if you have heavy calves. They are very stylish and not clunky.

The zip also did not stay up and would let in cold air.
After much tinkering the solution I found was to:
1. Wear an extra layer of socks to provide a snugger fit within the shoe and
2. Weave a shoe lace through the two loops at the back of the boot and tighten to minimise the shoe slipping at the heel area. You can also be clever and ensure that you weave the shoe lace over the zipper and this should stop it from slipping.
I wore these boots for 4 weeks while travelling in Europe during Winter. They were the only shoes I bought with me and with minor additions to the shoe, were able to be worn out to dinner, in the city walking around and the occasional trudging around the snow.

They are a little stiff at first and take some time to wear in but it is worth it in the end. The soles are thick and give great support. The inside fur is soft and very warm. I am sad that they are not water proof but they do very well in the snow none the less. I am a 7.5 and I kept with the 7.5 versus 7 because I like wearing thick socks, if you wear thin socks you could go a half size down. I love these boots and would recommend them to anyone.

I would recommend these for around town but not for winter sports.

This could be influenced by the fact that I am 5 months pregnant. Everything else is perfect.

These boots are comfortable, but do not have a high enough arch for my foot. I have added arch supports.
They are great for wearing around town/running errands. But for prolonged use in the cold my toes get cold quickly.
The zippers do not stay up very well but they don't get noticeably lose when they unzip. I usually don't realize they are unzipped until I take them off.
They are a good boot and I like them. They are not "the perfect boot" that I was searching for.
