By jerseygirl from ocean city, nj on 03/30/2008 Cons: A little uncomfortable Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't used them for climbing yet, but wore them around the house to break in. Adjustable strap digs into back of heel (will probably cut off unless shoes stretch). Consulted avid rock climber about very snug fit needed for good grip and told that it's normal for toes to be slightly crammed into toe box. Tried on other very expensive climbing shoes ($100+) to compare fit. Good price for beginning shoe.
By BeginnerBerl from Minneapolis, MN on 03/22/2008 Pros: Rugged, Weather Resistant Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just used the shoes for the first time yesterday at a "climbing cave" doing some bouldering with a friend. They worked really well for this. I barely knew I had them on at the end (although of course I knew I had good support, etc.) They are comfortable and although I'm not experienced I think they're a good shoe, especially for the price. I'm thinking of buying some for my fiance now. :0)
By BeginnerBerl from Minneapolis, MN on 03/22/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Rugged, Versatile Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I went bouldering with a friend yesterday at an indoor "climbing cave" and these did really well. They are comfortable and they seem to be a good shoe for the money. I am excited to go do more climbing with them, and I am thinking of buying a pair for my fiance so we can climb some together. :0)
By Old mad - Dave. from Louisville, KY on 03/07/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Price was great - the side straps are not too practical. They work great for going to the climbing gym and are really helping the boys focus on the imporatnce of footwork in climbing.
By taximum from illinois on 02/14/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Despite always wearing a 6.5, the back of the box tells you that this size should be a 37. The web site says a 37.5 which i bought and it still feels too small. Have given them to my son who loves them. They are sticky but have an unusually thick heel which seems to make them rather inflexible. Great for the money though.
By skiflake from Fort Collins, CO on 02/10/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Versatile Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes as my first pair, and they were a great deal! I have noticed that they the rubber is starting to peel a bit (been climbing in them about 7/8 times so far). I have a really wide foot, and they are SUPER comfortable for me, but I wouldn't recommend them for a narrow foot. I climb a lot in an indoor gym and I also boulder, and these have been pretty good to me so far.
By Ursus mountainus from Montana on 02/06/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: With my tight budet, this price was really appealing, but you really do get what you pay for. These shoes wore out after only about six weeks of moderate use. I have since replaced these shoes with a more expensive, but higher quality model.
By Nick from Loveland, CO on 11/27/2007 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Shoes work great indoor, haven't had a chance to use them outside yet but I'm sure they would be fine. Love the straps, gives you a perfect fit everytime.
By Carrie from DC Metro on 10/09/2007 Pros: Cheap price, Comfritable, Easy to walk in, Rugged Cons: Bulky, Don't feel as sticky, Laces not tight enough Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes seem okay. They aren't as cute as others I've seen, and they seem a bit poorly constructed, like, there's glue visible were the soles are connected to the shoe. Plus, the rubber doesn't feel as sticky as some of the others I've tried, and it's thick enough to be a little clumsy feeling. Over all, though, I'm only mildly disappointed and definitely not enough to rush out and buy another pay over. Though, I may not wait till these are completely worn out before upgrading.
