Good shoe, maybe runs a little small By rdahlgren from Western PA on 09/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Great Traction Best Uses: All Weather Conditions Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've bought a lot of Asolo footwear over the years, and this is one more example of outstanding footwear.
Having trouble with this shoe By Linni from Pawtucket RI on 08/20/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Cons: Arch support lacking, Not Comfortable, Poor Cushioning Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The reason I am probably having trouble with the fit is that I have a wide foot and a narrow heal. I have tried different combinations of socks and supports and am finally getting a better idea of what works. If I wear light socks the heel is too loose. If I wear heavy socks the heel is just right but the width is diminished. I can use them for walks up to 5 miles but I think I would have trouble going farther than that. Maybe they will break-in more in the future. I would still recommend these shoes for people who have a more normal foot.

By hikes for fun from UT on 07/27/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I hike a couple times a week and this shoe is perfect for all terrain day hikes.
By Dressage from Southeast on 07/24/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction Cons: Not Comfortable, Poor Cushioning Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought the Transits expecting the same comfort and quality I have in my Asolo boots. These shoes do provide the quality of Asolo but not the correct fit for me. They are large in the heal, easy to fix.
But they are much smaller in the toe box than my boots and left blisters on the sides and bottoms of my little toes the first time I used them for a two hour walk in a relatively flat area.
Nice looking, but not for me By Susie Spur from Long Beach, Ca on 07/21/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am sure these are great shoes, but I have heel spur, and I did not have the shoes on more the 5 minutes, and my foot started hurting. I put in my orthodics and they did not help at all. I am sorry, but I returned them with the ups prelabel.
They looked very nice and I am sure they would work if I didn't have my foot problem.
By hoosierhiker from Indiana on 07/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Runs a full size too large. I wear a 8.5 and had to return a size 8 for a 7.5 too keep them from slipping. Hiked up to El Yunque Peak in Puerto Rico with the first wear and had no problems. Good traction and my feet stayed dry.
By Dana from WA on 07/15/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ended up sending these back. I took the advice and went down a 1/2 size, but they were still too big. They seemed a bit clunky, I don't think I would've kept them even if they fit better.
Great straight out of the box. By Distance Runner from Wasilla,Alaska on 07/01/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent Cons: Dark color preferred Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wore these straight out of the box for a mountain hike, then a few days later for a 20 mile hike through various terrain. No blisters, no hot spots, great support and comfortable. Next adventure wearing them: Chilkoot Trail. Awesome shoe.
Happy about these hikers so far By Nora from Manchester, CT on 06/29/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Gym Rat, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a very high arch and a hard to fit foot...I am very picky with fit. These are pretty great compared to others so far. Price is right. You can fit a thick hiking sock under them. Ask me when I get back from Yellowstone...
They run big.
