well made but not the right fit. By yabbo from Durango, CO on 04/12/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Traction Describe Yourself: Trail Jogger Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Well made shoe but unfortunately, not the right fit. Was wide in the heel and narrow in the toebox so I had to return it.
Good-looking, lightweight hiker. By Sue, dedicated outdoor person from Brevard, NC on 04/03/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Great Traction Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker, Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Hike mountain terrain every week; involves climbing over rocky, root strewn trails. Sometimes no trail at all. As a low cut hiker, I can use this shoe in all but the worst snow and wet conditions.
By Doris from Miami, Fl. on 04/01/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great trail shoes that replace boots for light hiking.
By Calamityannie from Virginia on 03/24/2009 Cons: No arch supportflat, Not Comfortable, Not flexible, Poor Cushioning, Rubs your ankle Describe Yourself: Avid trail hiker, Two miles a day Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The shoe has no cushioning no arch support and rubs your ankle. Runs large should order one half size smaller.
Like others said-runs big! By littlelambi from NY on 03/11/2009 Best Uses: Everyday, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are somewhat comfy but they definitely run big. I normally wear a size 9.5 and I ordered a size 8.5 in these shoes. I still have lots of toe wiggle room-almost too much. Instead of returning them, I decided to wear extra thick socks, but that sometimes makes the sides of my feet "hot"(like blisters are starting to form). I like the look, but had to change the shoelaces. The ones that came with these shoes keep coming undone because they are so slippery.
Seem fine; haven't used yet. By Priscatran from Atlanta, GA on 03/05/2009 Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The sizing is definitely problematic. I had to exchange them twice for a smaller size. I have two pair of Asolo boots, so I know my size in Asolos. They are still a little roomy in the toe, but I don't expect that to be a problem
By Linda from Blue Mountain Australia on 03/03/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Buying shoes similar to these in Australia cost 100's. These are the one of the best bargains I have had. So far we have bought 4 pairs for various family members. They have been excellent footwear and used in the northern winter, walking through wet and snowy conditions with never a wet sock. Highly recommended to any hiker.
By On the Move from Asia on 03/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Climber, Traveler Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just bought these shoes to wear on an around the world trip - waited till the last minute to buy them, but after spending 4 days in them, I'm happy to report I've had no trouble! Very comfortable right off the bat - I put Superfeet in them for extra support (carrying 30+ lbs). ORDER 1/2 SIZE SMALLER THAN NORMAL. I wear 8-8 1/2 consistently and the 7 1/2 fit great - their size 7 1/2 US is equivalent to a Eur 39+.
By tanya from central nj on 02/19/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are very good: no break-in needed; durable; suitable for all kinds of terrain; lightweight; not bulky; water resistant.
However, do listen to the advice about sizing. They are a whole size larger than advertised, not half size. I bought them only a half size smaller, and they are still very roomy, even with heavy cushioned smartwool socks on. I decided to leave the size I ordered but only because I am thinking ahead to the high mileage summer hiking days when feet might swell. Also, in my pair at least, the left shoe is considerably larger than the right one.
By Stoney from Asheville, N.C. on 02/16/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Hiking around in Western North Carolina. My second pair of Asolo's. They are my second pair because my first pair are/were so durable.
