They do seem to run small -- I usually take a women's 8 and a half, and in these shoes I got a 9 which felt too tight. I actually am exchanging them for a 10 which should be perfect. The black ones, especially if you wore black socks, would work for most occasions where black shoes are needed (except very formal occasions) and they are super comfortable.

I also sent back the replacement because the back of the shoe rides to low causing slippage when I walk. This is supposed t be a comfortable walking shoe, but the manufacturer appears to have skimped on materials resulting in a poorly fitting shoe.

My only complaint is minor, they're snug just across the top of my feet, thin socks only.
