By CW from Wyoming on 11/02/2009 Pros: Clears a lot of snow, Metal construction, Strong, Tough Best Uses: Icy Conditions, Powder, Shovel for vehicle, Slushy Conditions, White Out Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Works. Tough. Compact enough. Take in truck. I'm mostly inbounds, so I don't usually take it skiing/boarding but it is light enough. Light and tough is always a compromise on one side or the other. This one goes more towards tough. Great product, just not ultralight.
By Zac from Irvine, CA on 03/23/2009 Best Uses: Icy Conditions, Powder Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Took this shovel up Whitney with me last weekend- it served well- my only wish is that it were lighter - but its about the same weight as the rest of the shovels....
Great shovel for Winter Land Surveying By surveypro from Corning, New York on 12/29/2008 Pros: Ergonomic Grip, Good Stiffness, Lightweight Best Uses: Land Surveying Pits, Snowshoeing, Telemarking Describe Yourself: Advanced Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been a Land Surveyor in NY for 40 years, most of them in the Adirondacks, and nothing digs pits like this shovel. Its light, easy to carry and works well when used wearing snowshoes.
