By HDY from Saipan MP on 01/05/2008 Cons: Poor Traction, Slippery Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These trail shoes are supposed to be for trails. But they are so slippery over rocks and dirt I wonder what 'trail' these shoes were designed for: a concrete bike trail? they are also lacking on the cushioning so running on the road is a real pounder.
Great American Made Running Shoes! By Running Rabbit from Green Mountains of Vermont on 12/20/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Good Traction Best Uses: Trails, Wet Conditions, Winter Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes fit well on my small feet. They feel light, yet they provide great support and cushioning. I use them trail running and the traction has been great on wet and slippery conditions. And they were made in the US!
If the shoe fits...(or not) By Jake the Snake from Albuquerque, NM on 12/17/2007 Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was looking forward to trying this product out but never had the chance as the sizing was inaccurate. Width "D" felt like Narrow.
By APXC from Averill Park, NY on 12/16/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight Best Uses: Pavement, Track, Trails, Wet Conditions, Winter Conditions Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe has run miles and miles already. I buy this model over and over again and it is consistently a solid running shoe-especially for trail or uneven courses.
By Dog Mom from Longmont, CO on 12/15/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight, Sturdy Best Uses: Pavement, Trails Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been wearing the _09 Trail Running line of New Balance shoes for many years as it has gone through about 6 different versions. They all have been favorites and I usually buy two pair and wear them into the ground with lots of light hiking, some trail running, (with our 3 big dogs) and also general wearing around.
Note that I have fairly wide feet and they fit me in the D width very well. They also tend to run a little small. My best fitting shoe for dress shoes is a 9.5 EE and I very comfortably wear an 11D in this line FYI.
By Annie from Sacramento, Ca on 12/07/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight Best Uses: Pavement, Trails, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are great shoes that are very comfortable. They do run a half size smaller than my street shoes but I have found this to be consistent with all New Balance shoes. It's not really a negative it just is what it is. I run on a horse trail and bike trail and found these to have great traction and stability.
By RN from Gillette, WY on 10/27/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Fast, Good Traction Best Uses: Pavement, Trails, Wet Conditions, Winter Conditions Describe Yourself: Active & Fit Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are so great! They are not the most attractive looking shoes I have had, however they did not give me blisters and the support is so great! The shoes work in all types of weather on all surfaces and I could not be happier with this purchase!
By Trail Runner1 from Vancouver, Canada on 10/22/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Fast, Good Traction, Lightweight Best Uses: Pavement, Trails, Wet Conditions, Winter Conditions Describe Yourself: Active & Fit Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great shoe and durable for sure - but I would suggest a size larger than your regular shoe size because there is a piece of rubber at the toe which rubs!! I did not exchange them because they didn't have my size larger but wish I could have!
By walkr from san francisco, ca on 10/12/2007 Describe Yourself: Active & Fit, Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these in wide, but they rub against my bunion. There isn't good arch support. I don't find them comfortable enough to wear all day.
By Tully from Montpelier, VA on 10/11/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Sturdy Cons: A little bulky looking Best Uses: Pavement, Trails, Wet Conditions, Winter Conditions Describe Yourself: Active & Fit, Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been wearing New Balance for years, because they fit nicely and they are comfortable. These are very true to New Balance sizing, and super comfortable. Maybe even the most comfortable pair of New Balance I've owned. The Reds are little funny looking, but changing the laces to black would help the look. They are also a bit bulky looking which I like anyway.
