I would reccommend buying at least a full size bigger than normal.

I snipped it and the shoe fits fine, and the outside elastic strap holds the shoe on very well- I just wouldn't use it on trails now. The cushioning in the sole is not enough for long walking on hard surfaces, might need an impact cushioning insole. Buy this shoe a full size larger if you want to use it in winter with thick socks. On the other hand, the support is great and the shoe feels very stable for my ankles and knees.
