I removed the sleeves easily when I got warmed up. I look forward to running in this jacket, too. It's a nice color with an attractive design. It washed up nice after several wearings.

I do have strong shoulders because I kayak and swim, but the armholes were very tight, probably because of the extra seams and material to allow the sleeves to unzip. I returned it. Otherwise a nice looking jacket.
