By Big brother from Boston, Ma on 06/21/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought two of these rods and they broke the first day of use. The rod blank only extends half way through the lower grip but the grip is hollowed throughout. The grips on both rods broke just at the end of the rod blank. Nice rod but poor design.

Perfect for casting swimbait and heavier bass/striped bass lures.Caught a 15 lbs. striper with it, and this rod action is on par with lot of more expensive brand name offerings out there.
Would try it out at the beach also.
I ordered a 2nd after receiving the 1st By Yolked from Oregon on 11/06/2008 Pros: Good Tip Action, Sensitive Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased the 8/17# 7.5 foot. I assume this rod was designed for bass, but will make an excellent steelhead plug rod. Perfect boat rod length and good tip action for plugs. Finally, can't beat the price!

He was very pleased. Well made. Used it on the Texas coast. He was very impressed what a bargain he got at Sierra Trading.
