Asolo boots feel instantly broken-in. By Alaskan adventurer from Cinicinnati, Ohio on 09/16/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Barrgain, Better than casual gymmie, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Long lasting, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational, Ok for riding my BMW Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Again, the Asolos I purchased are terrific right out of the box. I've owned around 20 pair of these boots (all but two pair from Sierra), and they last, offer good support and are sturdy without sacrificing day-long comfort. I wear them to the office and my older ones are for weekend activity. They offer enough flexibility for motorcycle riding and still have great support and protection I need for safety. When I get where I'm going, the boots are superior for hiking to any riding boots I've found. On the other hand, my riding boots offer better wet protection.
By Jimbo from Susq Valley, PA on 09/13/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Construction, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small, Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Tried *many* boots, but kept coming down to either sizing was wrong or poor qulaity/comfort. The final 2 were the Asolo Fugitive or Sasslong. Finally determined what size I needed in Fugative, but were out-of-stock. I ordered 1 size up to give adequate room for mid-weight socks. Love these! First week was in Acadia NP, with much day-hiking w/ family, then next week to scout camp. Wore them out-of-the-box for several days straight w/ no sore spots or blisters. Very nice construction - feels like they will last.

I should have ordered the next size bigger, so I had to return them.
By Marc from Plymouth, IN on 09/10/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Professional/Guide Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Had my foot crushed by a bull a few years ago and have to pay very close attention to the shoes and boots that I wear. Asolo has been about the only brand that I have bought in the past 5 years, and these boots are the best that I have purchased with the Asolo name. I previously was a professional guide in Wyoming, and will be heading back out in October for a hunting/canyoneering trip and have great confidence in these boots to keep me going in comfort.
Great fit, no break-in needed. These boots are great and a good deal. By Ultimas Optio from San Mateo, CA on 09/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Look great, Sturdy/Durable Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, SWAT CommanderSniper Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my 4th pair of Asolo boots. I wear them daily with 5.11 Tactical pants and polo shirts at work as a Police Captain/SWAT Commander. I also wear them hunting. Last week, we had an active shooter incident at Skyline College. I lead an 8-man search team for 3 hours clearing room-to-room, and my feet felt fresh as a daisy at the end!
By Scobo from BC mountains on 09/05/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great value. only one day in on them but really gave it to them. Had to ride my dirt bike in 20km harsh ground with them then hiked up over 2000ft elevation of swamp down low and rock up high. only one day in the office to break in so started out a little stiff but broke in really quick. feet stayed dry and comfy with lots of toe room. great for sidehilling to due to the great support. the other thing is i was worried about the grip on the rocks but was blown away. can get grip on nearly vertical rocks! love the boot and will buy spares. only concern from the days abuse is that the rubber band seems that it might be separating in the seam. but this is very minor as it is just a wear band. time will tell how they hold out but overall i am really impresses. i had a pair of big name brand to compare these to and i destroyed the others in one day...at over twice the cost, so i am really impressed. great value. oh yeh, another review said they were heavy...didn't find this not even a little.
