By xxxtreeboy from Latrobe, PA on 08/20/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Get WIDE if normally a D, Just adequate insole Best Uses: Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Light Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions, Woods work Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational, Professional forester Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My shoe size is a true 10 D normally, but in boots that I will beat my feet in daily in rough woods work, I need a 10.5 D to use with 2 pairs of socks. Since these boots run narrow like most Italian and German boots, it took a 10.5 Wide to fit me right. Like most serious hiking boots, it has a stiff sole for foot protection under heavy loads, and break-in is easy.

By Hikerdave from Pittsfield, Mass. on 07/19/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: AT Ridgerunner, Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a AT Ridgerunner in Mass. I have had these boots for about a week and so far they feel great. Based on recommendations of others, I did order them 1/2 size larger than normal. I carry a fairly heavy pack and am out for days at a time. They are a little heavy, but I am hoping that they will give me many years of service. I will be switching off with a couple other pair of hiking boots that I own in order to give each pair a chance to dry out.
