This beautiful horn corkscrew by Baladeo is so classic and comfortable in the hand, I just had to have it. Now that I've received it, I am pleased to say that it was the right decision. Lovely tool

It looks more like a second to me By Randy from Prescott, Arizona on 12/27/2008 Pros: Durable Materials, Easy To Use Best Uses: At The Bar, Wine Bottles Describe Yourself: Frequent Entertainer, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: One flyer said it was sterling silver, (I thought this was wrong) but all flyers said THIS product came from France, not China. I also assumed it was a closeout and not a second, but the Horn handle is scuffed up. The item works fine, however if I only wanted something that worked fine, I would have chosen the much cheaper opener from China, since that's aparently what I got.
Don't purchase unless [$] sale By Will from Arizona on 12/20/2008 Pros: Easy To Use, Looks strong Cons: Metal rivets rough, Metal seams gap, Poor workmanship Describe Yourself: Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Stainless steel as advertised but cheaply constructed with rough finishes. Probably functional but not attractive. Horribly overpriced at sale price. I returned item.

By RFO from Cinti, OH on 08/17/2008 Best Uses: At The Bar, In The Kitchen, Wine Bottles Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I previously rated this sommelier's tool. I purchased it under the assumption that it was made in France, where real Laguiole is made. Since then I learned it was made [...] I am not sure how Baladeo can use the Laguiole name. Anyway, since I had not used it, I returned it. I don't know about you, but I would rather buy something genuine, especially when I am paying "genuine prices". I've recently noticed that Sierra Trading Post has wisely added the country of origin to the listings for this and other Baladeo products.
Better than same brand w/ olive handle By RFO from Cinti, OH on 07/01/2008 Pros: Durable Materials, Easy to Use, Good quality Best Uses: At The Bar, In The Kitchen, Wine Bottles Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased the Baladeo with the olive wood handle. The quality was so bad that I returned it. This one is significantly better. The corkscrew seems sturdier, the knife & lifter have proper drag. Much better. By the way, the "famous fly" is not a fly. It's a bee. Napoleon used the bee as his personal symbol, denoting industriousness. Laguiole designs adopted the Napoleon bee.
