These are some nice racing snowshoes. I'm a high school runner so I use these to keep in shape for track and have fun during the winter with my training team. These shoes are lightweight, efficient, and they look pretty cool too. When I fist put them on the first time they felt a little loose but they never came close to falling off. I would for sure recomdend these to anyone who wants a good racing snowshoe.

Got these to run in the snow, and wish I'd gotten them earlier! Don't forget your gaitors though...you'll be glad you wear them. For deep powder, +8", you might want something different, but for semi-packed and not too deep, these did very well. I used to run in Yaxs, but these snowshoes are far better for what I need, and stayed put on my shoes...I just used my running shoes w/ these Redfeathers. Better traction and better if the snow was anything over 2" fresh powder. Careful if the trail is fairly new, has a lot of deep foot prints that are icey or semi-rugged, I had to really be careful...take note if you're worried about your knees. I got blisters on my heal after the 2nd run, but black electrical tape keep me going w/o any issues...just in case someone else runs into the same issue.

My first time on snow shoes - walked (ran a ways just for the feel) - in deep fluffy snow over a foot deep. No problem! Went up a fairly steep hill and then walked on rolling terrain and back down the hill again. Seemed as easy as walking on dry land. Very easy to put on securely and they stayed tight.

Comments:
Great product, well suited for racing on groomed/pratially groomed trails. Not enough surface area for deep powder but that is to be expected. Very easy to use, strap them on and run.

These snowshoes are FUN - once you can get them on. It was zero out, I had to take off my mitts to get the metal prong onto the rubber strap, and get the strap into the rubber loops. At first it felt as if they were too loose and would fall off, but the shoes stayed put. They are lightweight and gorgeous, and I'm even able to run in them (well at least til one of my dogs tackle me!!)

Easy on,easy off. These have a light fast feel on the trail. OK in deep snow. Perfect for when the trail is somewhat packed, but still too loose to run on without snowshoes due to post-holing.

Good Running Showshoe. [$]
By Redfeather Race Reviewer from Michigan on 12/20/2007
Best Uses:
PackedSemi-packed snow
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
These are my first pair of running snowshoes. I just got them, and have used them for one run of about 3.5 miles after about 8" of new snow.I can use these in powder, but it's a lot of work because I really have to get my legs up because I sink down. I weigh about 190 lbs, so that may not be as much of an issue for a lighter person. They're great on any area that is somewhat packed - even if just from another person or two walking or XCskiing the trail first.Very natural feel and normal gate pattern. No learning curve.
