By Betina from Greenland on 06/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Cons: Narrow in the toe box Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Mountains, Rough Terrain, Stepping stones, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these boots an hour before my trip. I wore them inside while getting ready and decided to take the chance and wear them on my several day trekking tour in the rough Greenlandic mountains. It turned out to be the best pair of trekking boots I have owned (I live in the middle of the mountains and have never been satisfied with boots until now) - the grip was superior no matter if I was walking on wet stepping stones, boulders or rocky slopes. I did get a little sore in the beginning but only because the sole doesn´t bend, and after a good nights sleep, I was ready again and no one would have guessed that I had just walked for 5 hours with a heavy backpack the day before. The material is excellent - very strong but still soft and good looking design.
I Love Them So Much I Bought Two Pair! By Emerald from Springfield, MO on 05/13/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Cons: No Cons what-so-ever Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought one pair because of the great price. After wearing them for a month I knew how upset I will be when eventually this style will no longer be available. Isn't that always the way it goes? You realize too late the greatest pair of shoes you own can no longer be found? Well, it's not going to happen to me this time. I bought a second pair and put them in the closet. After 1 1/2 years the first pair is no where near needing to be replaced! These are sturdy, comfortable boots that look great. Pick up a pair, or two, today! I promise you will never regret it.
By River from Lovely, Arkansas on 03/28/2008 Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I feel in love with these beautiful boots as soon as I opened the box, but alas, they were too small! They also felt very narrow and as though the arch was not in the right place. I had to order a half size larger. You will feel good in these boots. They really inspire me to get out and hike!
By TJB from Sheridan, WY on 03/12/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an awesome hiking boot. Scarpa makes and excellent product. Unfortunately, it was too narrow in the toe box for my foot. Everything else about it is superior quality.
A Great Pair of Boots (and my favorite) By Chris / bicyclist from Staten Island on 09/27/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these once before and upon wearing them for 2 days wished that I had bought more. Alas, there were no more available. I have been wearing them everywhere, on an almost daily basis. The leather and workmanship is first-rate. The materials cannot be beat. By the way, I am a leatherworker and appreciate fine leather. The sole and treadlife on these boots is superb!
In addition, I like the strong support, which is what I need. You will get years of life out of these!
I never regretted buying them as they are probably the best hiking boots I ever bought. I have recommended them numerous times.
By Treasure from Pine Mountain, Arkansas on 09/13/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Immediately comfortable. No slip in heel. Love the classic "Alpine" look.
By Norman Clyde from Reno, NV on 09/11/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Classic Italian-made Scarpa quality - you can't purchase a finer boot. The leather is beautiful, and the workmanship and fit are like custom made. The women's boot in this model has a narrow profile, with a relatively high arch support, and a medium volume.
I haven't worn these long enough to make a statement about durability, but my last pair of Scarpa boots was the best pair of boots that I have ever owned, lasting a very long time through incredible abuse.
