I was able to put the other boot on without using the strap but now I have one that is broken & one not.

I was surprised how cheaply made the boot straps were compared to the rest of the boot. I could barely get a toe in the top because these run way too small for size-I wear 8 1/2, these were an 8, felt more like a 6 1/2 or 7. Sent them back the next day. Still waiting on my refund.

DON'T pull them up with the loops on the sides. they will break. overall, i really like them.
