By Lisa from Albany, New York on 10/23/2009 Pros: Great Traction, Warm, Water Resistant Cons: Too Stiff/Not Flexible Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought these boots towards the end of the season last year and just had the opportunity to use them now. And oh boy, my poor ankles are in pain! Just a bit to stiff in the ankle area. Even when I loosen the laces to given my ankles some breathing room, that didn't cut it. I have knots near my ankles now! Will be returning......
By w from ann arbor, mi on 10/23/2009 Pros: Ankle Support, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant Cons: Too Stiff/Not Flexible Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too big, Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these boots because I wanted to use them as snow/rain boots and for hiking. I just spent a week hiking around Mt. Hood and the weather was cold and rainy. Luckily, these boots kept my feet warm and dry the whole time and I didn't even have to break them in. It has great traction and felt comfortable around wet rocks. I read the other reviews and they were right - buy a size smaller. Luckily, they fit perfectly now. My only complaint is that although it has great ankle support, it's a little stiff. It's the only thing that needs to be broken in though. Other than that, I highly recommend these boots.
By Montrail Girl from Ohio on 04/01/2009 Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am long time fan of Montrail. I am on my 3rd pair. I decided to try a different style since it was such a great price. Unfortunately, the sizing was way off. It felt a full size larger. I cannot really speak to the technical aspects since it was too big but it looked like a solid boot.

My feet were absolutely warm and dry and totally comfortable the entire 4 day trip. I felt bad for my friends that had wet soggy feet the entire time, but I was so happy that I didn't have to worry about my feet with all the other obstacles we faced. Didn't even break them in first! I am so happy I chose these boots, I will wear them out for sure
