By Ray Guzman from Slidell,La on 02/28/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: great boots, soild, well made boots, great price. Like any good boots, they need to be broken in first with daily wear before hitting the trails. I am still breaking them in, a few more weeks and they will be perfect for the trails.
Well constructed, but zero cushioning By Utah slickrock fan from Chicago, IL on 02/19/2008 Pros: Decent ankle padding, Good ankle support, Great Traction Cons: minimal arch support, Poor cushioning, Very stiff sole Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The boot looks well-constucted - good stitching , good materials overall, nice cleat pattern and sole seems fairly sticky.
But sole is extremely stiff, bending the toebox by hand requires substantial effort. Arch support is nearly non-existent. Padded footbed, but there is no EVA or PU midsole - the only footbed cushioning comes from the rather thin foam removable inner foot pad.
I think these would be a bear to break in, and the lack of a cushioning midsole is a big downside if you're going to spend much time hiking/trekking in these boots.
Kamik probably makes good boots, but these aren't ones I can see spending much time in.
good looking not much comfort By Bob from Cape May, New Jersey on 01/03/2008 Pros: Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold weather, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I wear them for work and although they are water resistant they do not have much cushioning at the ball of the foot.
Very pleased with these boots!!! By Xterra Steve from Fort Walton Beach, Florida on 01/01/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Nice appearance also Best Uses: Backcountry, Cold weather, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Hiking and biking in Blackwater River State Forest here in Florida. Also wear these while doing work around the house. Seem tough enough, yet light enough to not slow me down. When they get a lot of age and wear, I'll start using them as work shoes on my job. I expect a lot of hiking boots and I feel these will not let me down.
By Charlie the energizer bunny from Phoenix, AZ on 12/14/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When I bought this pair of hiking shoes I did not realize they were almost identical to two previous pairs of Klamiks. I have been exceptionally pleased with the previous pairs and expect the same duration from this most recent purchase. In all cases the shoes fit well and after a little breaking in to soften the uppers I expect to wear them frequently.
By Straight Shooter from Shreveport, LA on 12/13/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good looking and feeling. Haven't owned long enough to rate durability.
Early impressions positive By Super Angulon from Winston-Salem, NC on 12/05/2007 Cons: slips on smooth wet floor Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I Have only worn these boots a couple of days, but so far I'm pleased. I ordered my size and they are plenty roomy, even with thick socks. They look and feel like a quality product. My only complaint is that the boots are slippery when I walk on smooth concrete with wet soles. Maybe the rubber is harder than my old boots, or maybe they just need to be roughed up some.
