One day break-in and they are good to go. I was concerned about the weight of the boots when ordering, but they are so comfortable that the weight is a non-issue. They are perfect for the person on their feet all day, and provide great ankle support. Only problem was the laces lasted about 2 weeks, but this is my third pair of Carolina boots and this seems to be a common issue. After replacement with more durable laces, these boots are ready for the long hard work day!

Leather is very thick and durable but this means that the boots are heavy and it takes some time for them to break in. I brought my old boots to work and was glad to be able to change half way through the day for the first week. Now that they've broken in, however, I like them very much. The thick soles add more weight, but they are resilient which makes these boots an excellent choice for working on a concrete shop floor. I would recommend applying a coat of mink oil to them right out of the box to help soften the leather and speed the break-in process.

These boots fill the bill. Don't know about the durability side yet as I've only had them for a week but they are very comfortable and can be had at a great price!

They might need some extra cushioning under the toes, will most probably use a gel inlay to improve them.
