By Juergen the Giant from New England on 12/31/2007 Cons: Difficult Entry & Exit Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: WOW these looked great. BUT sizes run small - we ordered size fourteen for our size 14 Dad.
He could not even squeeze into it. It looked large enough but with the nice thick liner - he just could not get his foot in.
We would not recommend mail order unless you are sure of your size on this one.
We will rate the returns process and look for other great boots.
Solid, Warm and comfortable By PDN from Newton, MA on 12/24/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are terrific - solidly built and very comfortable and warm. I use them in MA while outside standing in the snow and ice and never have cold feet. The boots feel about 1/2 smaller than marked -- I wear an 8 1/2 and a 9 fits about right. The only con is they are heavy, but with an insulated boot that is probably 16" high, that's to be expected.

Great, comfortable and warm.
By mcarl from Minnesota on 12/11/2007 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Waffle sole insert, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Insole support, Laces Best Uses: Cold Weather, ice fishing, Snow Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Standing on the ice Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Below zero temperature in Minnesota, this boot keeps my feet warm and toasty.
Only negatives are the laces, difficult in cold to tighten them. Feet were sore after a 3 mile walk, there is no arch support.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars... By Michael in Michigan from Michigan Thumb Region on 12/05/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Good Traction, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Slippery Terrain, Snow, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I've only had them for a few weeks. I can't say how they will perform over time, but the fit, design and function are flawless so far. They are warm in very cold Michigan weather without being sweaty and stifling, the velcro strap that crosses atop the foot helps keep the boot on snugly and securely, the thick leather section up the back of the boot stabilizes and stiffens the entire boot very well (esepcailly for putting the boot on without collapsing), and they provide solid handling in snow and icy snow. I've had no problems with leakage or wetness, but I haven't tested them fully in that department yet.My expectations for waterproofness and long-term durability for these boots are high based on their otustanding performance so far. Time will tell if that get that 5th star or not. Also, they are quite mammothy and extreme. My kids like stomping around in the house with them on and playing abominable snowman.[...]
