LaCrosse Digital Travel Alarm By fishmhard from Lodi, Ca on 11/13/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great features once you get it set-up. Con: I'll have to review the instruction booklet to reset it. The alarm change function just doesn't lend itself to memory commitment for me (yet anyway). But the Atomic clock, time zones, large backlit display are great features for travel. No more discussions about my alarm clock being set ahead too fast!
By gardengrrl from Littleton, CO on 11/10/2009 Pros: Easy To Configure, Easy To Use Describe Yourself: Casual User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Our power goes out a lot, so a battery powered atomic clocks is very handy, but it took reading the directions to figure out how to get this one in the right time zone, LOL. Otherwise it was easy to set up. Does not feel as durable as another one we have, but it lived through a cat knocking it off the counter.
By mary from Morrow OH on 11/10/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy To Configure Best Uses: Home, Portable Devices, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have not starting using the clock yet but appears easy to use.
Solid clock, difficult to set. By Jonzu from Berkeley, CA on 11/02/2009 Pros: Consistent Performance, Dim light, Durable Describe Yourself: Casual User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Solid, affordable clock, but difficult to set alarms and not intuitive to control.
The light is dim and when the clock is closed, you can accidentally change the settings by pushing the buttons.
I bought 3 and really like them By Tio Raoul from Albany NY on 10/21/2009 Pros: Atomic accurate, I like features, It's quiet Cons: Poor upright position Describe Yourself: Casual User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Use for travel and as home alarm clock. No ticking, does not keep me awake. In the open position, the rachet does not keep it upright, it falls back or closes; I have to prop it against something.
By world traveler from Seattle on 10/20/2009 Pros: Easy To Configure, Easy To Use Best Uses: Portable Devices, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Easy to set up and read, good instructions. Wish it had a backlight but for the price, is a great little alarm clock, though alarm volume might be too low for someone needing a jolt of sound to wake up.
light, functional travel alarm By jane dog walker from Boulder, CO on 10/07/2009 Pros: Easy To Configure, Easy To Use Describe Yourself: Casual User Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great little travel alarm for the price.
Inaccurate, mediocre design By romath from Bozeman MT on 10/01/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy To Use Cons: Poor Design, Unreliable Best Uses: Home, In The Car, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual User Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I've now tried two recently and they both have the same flaw, namely some days it is 1 minute off relative to NIST time (other days it is accurate). This is not a battery problem, but must be some kind of design one in which the radio-control electronics are not picking up or processing the signal correctly (an Oregon Scientific sitting right next to it is correct).
The second problem is a design one: seconds don't show in the default screen mode; rather, the Alarm 1 time does, even when the alarm is not set. What's the point?
