great product for big fish By Beachfly from New York on 04/28/2009 Pros: Accurate Casting, Durable, Good Tip Action Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Rod has great line handling capabilities, with either a 10 or 11 wt line, light enough for a day's fishing, and if one avoids high sticking will keep the rod and tip intact. Stripers and False albacore work well with the rod.
By ml77 from Concord, MA on 02/19/2009 Cons: Breaks Easily, Poor Construction Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Ocean Fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought the 9wt version of this rod for a back-up on a recent trip to Mexico. Fortunately I also bought along a St.Croix because the Albright's tip broke off during our first ride into the mangroves. Best I can tell, the vibrations from the boat (panga) broke the rod tip. The St. Croix and a Sage (both stored alongside the Albright) made it without issue. Never even got to cast it on water, but from land seemed a bit stiff.

By Greg from Strafford, NH on 08/25/2008 Pros: Accurate Casting, Easy To Transport, Flexible, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got this rod on close out at a local tackle store and I love it. I own a Fenwick which retailed for as much as this Albright, and the difference is night and day. The Albright is crisp and light. It cast really well and just feels good in my hand. n my third trip out with the rod (and first actually hauling in a fish), the tip broke about 6" from the top. [...]

By Capt Wish'n for Fish'n from Belmont, Ca. on 03/18/2008 Pros: Accurate Casting, Easy To Transport, Flexible, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Cons: Breaks Easily, No warranty Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Ocean Fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice casting rod, good looking. But first and last fish, rod couldn't withstand the fight. It broke in two places on the top section. Disappointed it didn't come with some kind of warranty.
